Registration Fees:

All registration prices are in U.S. dollars. Prices listed are per person. Registration fees apply to the individual and cannot be shared among people from the same firm or company. A detailed description of what is included in registration is outlined on the “Register” page of the event website.

Health and Safety Requirements

ALA prioritizes the safety and welfare of its meeting and conference attendees, exhibitors, partners, speakers, and team members. ALA policy is to adhere to the health and safety protocols in place at the time of the conference as determined by federal, state, and local authorities and the venue. Individuals are encouraged to take any additional precautions they deem necessary to achieve their desired personal level of safety and wellness.

ALA’s health and safety requirements are based on guidance and recommendations issued by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other public health authorities. We continuously monitor local, state, and federal public health guidance, directives and requirements and will update our health and safety requirements as necessary.

In order to care for our community, all ALA conference attendees must follow all health and safety protocols required by ALA, the venue, national and/or local authorities.

Registration Eligibility

Registration fees are based on membership status (ALA member or nonmember) on the date registration and payment are received (by 11:59 p.m. Central). However, all member rates are contingent on the member renewing their full ALA 2023 membership. Nonmember registration is restricted to individuals who are not currently members of ALA but who do meet the eligibility requirements for ALA membership. Learn more about membership eligibility requirements or contact the ALA Membership Department at 847-267-1585.

Business partners, including legal industry suppliers who are not exhibiting/sponsoring, are not permitted to register as attendees or guests. One exception: All those holding the Certified Legal Manager (CLM)® designation are eligible to register for the conference.

A guest registration may not be used by someone eligible for membership in ALA, a business partner or a supplier who is not exhibiting.

Payment Policy

Payment must be received in full by the conference date. All discounts will be applied to the full conference fee only (excluding add-ons), cannot be combined with any other offer‚ and must be paid in full at the time of order.

Confirmation

All registrants will receive written confirmation/receipt of registration. If you do not receive confirmation from the organizers, please contact Customer Service at 1-888-593-7243 or [email protected].

Worry-Free Registration

Should pandemic circumstances or local restrictions on gatherings/travel be imposed and the in-person 2023 Annual Conference & Expo transitions to a fully virtual event, we will contact you with an update on your registration options. We will be offering full refunds for cancellations received by February 6, 2023, 11:59 p.m. Central.

If you elect to cancel your registration after February 6, 2023, the following cancellation fees and options will be assessed.

Substitutions

Paid conference registrations may elect to send a substitute attendee from their organization or chapter. The following fees and options will be assessed. The substitute’s registration fee will be adjusted if a nonmember replaces an ALA member. Please submit a written request to [email protected].

Guest Registrations

The purchase of a guest registration for in-person events is restricted to guests of registrants only. A guest may not be someone eligible for membership in ALA, a business partner or a supplier who is not exhibiting. ALA reserves the right to review eligibility for guest registration. Guests of attendees are also subject to the health and safety requirements. Prior to attending the event, all guests of conference participants will be required to accept the terms of service, including specific terms regarding health, safety and COVID-19 found below.

Special Registration Discounts

Managing Partner at a Law Firm

If you are a managing partner of a law firm, you qualify for a special discount, equivalent to the ALA member rate (at the time of registration).

To register at this rate, select the “ALA Members” button on the “Register” page of the website. Specify “Managing Partner at Law Firm” in the membership information section of the registration form. Or you may contact us to complete your registration.

Student Registration Fee

Students may apply to register for the full conference for a fee of $599. To qualify for this special rate, you must be a student enrolled full or part-time in any degree program, and do not hold a full-time, management level position. You will be asked to provide a copy of your current transcript.

Team Pricing

Groups of five or more attendees (from the same firm) receive a 10% discount* on the total registration price. Call our customer service team at 1-888-593-7243 or email  [email protected] to register your group.

*All attendees must be from the same firm and register together in one transaction. Team pricing is not available for online registration; please call or email us. Group booking discounts apply to full conference registrations only.

Conference Consent Policy

By registering for this ALA conference, you are consenting to receive communications from ALA in addition to sharing your contact information publicly on attendee rosters. You will have the ability to withdraw your consent at any time by contacting  [email protected].

Promotional Photos and Videos

Participation at and registration (attendee, guest and exhibitor) for the conference gives consent to the use and distribution of the participants’ image or voice in any pictures, video or audio recordings, or electronic reproductions taken during ALA and ALA-related events for conference coverage and future ALA promotional purposes. ALA is able to use your likeness without remuneration.

Association of Legal Administrators Meeting Code of Conduct

ALA is committed to providing a safe, productive and welcoming environment for all meeting participants and ALA staff. All participants, including, but not limited to, attendees, speakers, volunteers, exhibitors, guests, ALA staff members and service providers, are expected to abide by this Meeting Code of Conduct (Code) whether participating in-person or virtually. This Code applies to all ALA webinars, educational sessions, conferences, meetings and meeting-related events, including those sponsored by organizations other than ALA but held in conjunction with ALA events, whether on public or private platforms (collectively, “meetings”).

ALA has zero-tolerance for any form of discrimination or harassment, including but not limited to sexual harassment by participants or our staff at or during meetings.

If you experience harassment or hear of any incidents of unacceptable behavior, ALA asks that you immediately inform Eryn Carter, CAE, Executive Director, [email protected] so that ALA can take the appropriate action.

Unacceptable behavior includes without limitation:

  • Harassment, intimidation or discrimination in any form.
  • Verbal or written abuse of any attendee, speaker, volunteer, exhibitor, ALA staff member, service provider or other meeting participant.
  • Examples of verbal and written abuse include, but are not limited to, comments related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, national origin; inappropriate use of nudity and/or sexual images in public spaces or in presentations; or threatening or stalking any attendee, speaker, volunteer, exhibitor, guest, ALA staff member, service provider or other meeting participant.
  • Disruption of any element of an in-person or virtual meeting. Other behavior, actions or activities deemed disruptive, unacceptable, or contrary to the best interests of ALA as determined by ALA in its sole and absolute discretion.

In addition, the following rules apply to all ALA meetings:

  • Presentations, postings, comments and messages may not contain promotional materials, special offers, job offers, product announcements or solicitations for services. ALA reserves the right to remove such messages and potentially ban source(s) of such solicitations from its meetings.
  • Participants may not copy or take screenshots of Q&A or any chat room activity that takes place in the virtual space.
  • All meeting participants must comply with the instructions of ALA staff, session moderators and presenters.

ALA reserves the right to take any action it deems necessary and appropriate, including immediate removal from a meeting without warning or refund, in response to any incident of unacceptable behavior or other violation of this Code, and ALA reserves the right to prohibit attendance at any future virtual or in-person meeting.

Health & Safety Notices

An inherent risk of exposure to various infectious diseases exists in any public place where people are present. If you are uncertain as to your health, you should not register for the conference until you have consulted a medical adviser about the risks that you may be exposed to.

By registering for any of ALA’s conferences, you confirm that you (i) are attending voluntarily, and at your own risk; (ii) understand and agree that attendance may carry the risk of injury or illness, even serious injury or illness, death, or damage or loss of property, including, without limitation, the risk of being exposed to or infected with COVID-19 or other infectious disease and voluntarily assume such risk; and (iii) release, and forever discharge, indemnify and hold harmless, ALA and American Conference Institute, Inc. (ACI), and their respective directors, officers, staff, agents, members, and representatives, from any and all claims, liabilities, actions, damages, costs or expenses of any kind arising out of, in connection with, or relating to your attendance or participation in the conference including, without limitation, any illness, damages, or injury resulting from your attendance at the conference.
